Strasse was my Master's graduation film, which deals with places where right-wing motivated crimes against refugees happened. The places are examined photographically and re-animated with the help of stop-motion techniques. Has the act changed the place? Has the deed changed people? Is the place itself guilty? By abstracting the place into an immersive, aesthetic experience, the viewer is encouraged to reflect on the violence and its effects on the place (and society).
The project has been funded by the Faculty of Design, Media & Information of the HAW Hamburg.

Reviews:
»A strong piece of work, aesthetically impactful with reference to twentieth century European animation. Excellent juxtaposition of sonic and visual textures, appropriate for the sociopolitical message conveyed by the film.«
Jury, Klingt Gut Symposium on Sonic Art and Spacial Audio
